Left you with a cliffhanger just like BB always did. Gotta love it. It's good to have something this good to look forward to every week now!

That said, I like that they're making it both similar (especially visually) and different (especially in tone) from BB. The relationship with his brother looks like it will be the heart of the show. I also liked the obviously-familiar-but-not-yet-defined-for-the-audience relationship he has with the woman at the law firm.

And I wonder if those brothers are going to be the Badger and Skinny Pete of BCS.

Uh, no I did not know that! I don't have cable so I don't see any of the ads for programming or schedules. I have Apple TV and my mom's Comcast login (because I'm apparently a twenty-year-old college student...) so I watch it when it pops up online. Good to know!

I'm wondering if those two will make it beyond the opening credits of episode 2! lol

My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that because it's a prequel, the sense of danger is somewhat lowered, because we know Saul will survive (at least until Cinnebon). In Breaking Bad, you never knew for sure Walt and Jesse would survive (especially Jesse). But still, it's fun to see how Slippy Jimmy comes up with ways to weasel out of hopeless and dangerous situations.

Yeah...I still thought the show was intense as it played out, but you're right.

I definitely felt like I was watching more Breaking Bad...which is not a bad thing.

I also thought using it as a moment to show Saul thinking on his feet and finding his voice even with a psycho was even a better way to handle it.

And I liked that it wasn't Tuco, but the other guy who came to the office to visit. I have a feeling he'll be more of a presence in the show than Tuco going forward.

The vibe I'm getting is that he has convinced himself that electromagnetism is making him sick and he's become essentially a hermit. Anyone who comes in has to "ground" themselves, and if a cell phone is snuck in (in the pocket of a drunken brother, say), it must be handled with tongs and thrown into the yard.

Now it could all be in his mind, or he could have a real illness that he's blaming on imaginary things.

Or he could be right and cell phones are going to kill us all! (Only kinda kidding with that one...)

Also liked how in the opening flashback, Chuck had to drop off HIS phone and assorted items just the way Jimmy/Saul now has to do when he visits his brother. Which conjures up an image of Chuck in his now (self-imposed) prison.

There were just a couple of moments when I thought the episode veered into conventional "procedural" territory - i.e. Jimmy figuring out the doll's absence meant the family wasn't really kidnapped, the cops didn't believe it, and you knew Jimmy would be proved right. But other than that there was great tension (especially at the creepy pay phone), great humor, and a reminder than Jimmy is still a long way from Saul's amorality.

And seeing Mike's wheels turning when he decided not to press charges - Banks is just freakin' great.
