It probably helps if you are familiar with and enjoy German Cuisine. My late wife's mother was a first generation American of German descent and she did a lot of GOOD German cooking; many of the items at Biergarten were of similar quality. Some people don't like the fact that you are seated at "communal tables" seating 6 people. I've never found that to be a problem... at times your neighbors keep to themselves and you never know they are there. At other times they love talking about Disney and the Parks and it has always been a very enjoyable meal. I'm not thrilled with the food at Rose and Crown either, but the location at water's edge is lovely... especially if you get an outdoor seat during pleasant weather around the time for Illuminations.

My mom grew up in a predominantly German area, so the food has always been a part of my diet, but I really don't think that there's anything too exotic out there; it's pretty straightforward meat-and-potatoes type fare Plus, you can get a liter of beer! What's not to like?

Originally Posted By danyoung >Maybe it was the Bavarian Cabbage Salad you had stuck between your front teeth... ;-)< Nope - it started as soon as I sat down and said hi. They seemed to think that I was gonna leap over the table and attack them at any second. Very strange!

I have heard they have a special performance for the holiday season. Does anybody have more to share about this time of year?
