    He passed from leukemia. Talk about an interesting man.

    RIP Coach Walsh, you brought the Bay Area much joy. You changed football and developed some unbelievable talent!

    Sam Wyche
    Ray Rhodes
    Bruce Coslet
    Tony Dungy played for him.

    Most of his former assistants passed on Walsh's structures and strategies to a new generation of coaches, including Mike Shanahan, Jon Gruden, Brian Billick, Andy Reid, Pete Carroll, Gary Kubiak, Steve Mariucci and Jeff Fisher.

    No kidding..those are the 49ers I grew up with.

    I don't follow the coaching as much as just the sport, but I'm sure he'll be missed...but the NFL, the Bay Area, and the sports world as a whole.
