I was talking with disney travel and they told me to make sure and register everyone in our party for their free day on their birthday before our upcoming trip. so if you are purchaseing a package deal or have an ap you get a gift card instead to use in the parks. If you have an ap you can go to the park on your bday and get a free pass to use on another day and this includes black out days. I thought this was very good for people who are local and have ap,s. we are neither but i thought i would pass it on.
