Does anyone here know anything about that meeting?

When they're all there together, it can only mean that they're trying to get something approved The only other time I've seen evidence that all/most of them were in a park together was in 2012, when they all went to bask in the glory (and have an obligatory photo) of the newly-opened Carsland. I wonder if this means that they'll have an announcement ready in time for D23. That could be the type of thing that gets people excited for those conventions again!

However I never really liked it, because it can get pretty ugly. That's not the kind of environment I enjoy. the same problem has/had Micechat. I know you have kind of an admiration of Bob Iger, over there they don't like him at all. I find that very disturbing when people don't have any respect on fanboards. Because of all the comments I watched some interviews with him on youtube. He is quite a good talker and, although I'm not a big fan of him, listening to him is very interesting.

Did they ever go public with an announcement afterwards, or do we have to wait until D23 Expo?

It's fun to watch old interviews with him, knowing in hindsight what he really meant with what he said. I don't always like what he says or trust him to be honest, but he's a very skilled speaker >>Did they ever go public with an announcement afterwards, or do we have to wait until D23 Expo?<< For DCA's redo, I believe they announced it on its own. I don't remember the exact timeline, but I think it may have been before the D23 Expo existed (I remember they announced the MK Fantasyland project at the first one), or it was in a non-Expo year. I also remember that the rumors had been swirling very strongly for several months, and I think it started to leak when they did presentations to frontline CMs. It's all sort of fuzzy in my memory, but there were lots of images and details that got leaked, which in turn forced them to make a public announcement Although they could end up doing something completely different, I think the timeline for this is just about perfect for an Expo announcement. We're about 2 months out, which gives them plenty of time to come up with a presentation and "sales pitch" to the fans, while not really holding back the information for a long time What ever they decide to do, it will be a big announcement. I don't see them dropping this on the Disney Parks Blog some morning, between posts about the latest candy apple and fireworks viewing tips; I imagine it will be primarily in the real media (with a blog post "written by Tom Staggs" to accompany). I guess part of the announcement timeline depends on the actual project timeline. I suspect they don't want another Avatar situation, where they announced the project years before it ever began construction; we've known about the project for about 5 years now, and we're still probably 18 months from opening. It's just hard to keep people interested in a project that long >>The head of Disney is a billionaire?<< He may or may not be an actual billionaire, but either way he's filthy stinking rich. What's a few million dollars between friends?

He really wanted to hear his question, then when that bombshell of "DHS is changing names" was accidentally dropped, he played off of it well. I remember last expo, people wanted some small announcements, but didn't expect anything, and we didn't get anything. This go around, if we don't hear announcements, there may be some mobs at the Anaheim Convention Center. This will be one fun expo!

But what a glorious mistake it was! It was news that we would have gotten eventually either way, but it was a lot of fun to get it in that way

Given how sparse the current line-up is there, I really can't imagine the park being able to weather a DCA-like redo, with major portions of the park closed behind construction walls; nor can I realistically see them shutting down the entire park for the year or two where it's at its worst. I'll be really interested to see how they do it

As long as there isn't an announcement, I'm not going to be excited either.
