Then we stayed there again in June of 2003, and it was an awful experience. Mostly the fault was with other guests, but the management didn't address some issues I think they should have, even though we complained numerous times. For example, we were on a nonsmoking floor. There was a connecting room to ours with strangers staying in it. Not only did they smoke right outside their door constantly, but they also smoked in their room, and our room was practically blue with smoke that came through the (closed and locked) connecting door. Management insisted that they could not move the smokers to a smoking room.

There were also quite a few heavy duty partiers on our floor who hung out in the outside corridor drinking, smoking, and generally making lots of noise until the wee hours of the morning every night. Management chose not to address that either. The capper was a hideous fight in the parking lot late one night. It sounded like a domestic battle, and there was a whole lot of screaming, swearing, and threatening by the man to kill his wife/girlfriend. It was terrifying.

The suites and the management at the Carousel Inn, however, have been great when we've stayed there. I did have a problem with unchanged sheets from the previous guests once staying in a single room at the Carousel, but the management took care of it immediately and discounted (or comped, I can't remember for sure) that one night.
