It sounds like this new Cafe Orleans is going to be more of a Moderate/Upscale restaurant - On the level of Storytellers - Am I getting this right?
And if so, Wow...Will it do well from the getgo to long term?

If you need PS you can't have kids and tired relatives table parking anymore.. or am I getting my patios confused??

I personally don't want to see them serving wine to guests at Disneyland. Walt didn't want it at the orginal at least so I say status quo.. the park is too crowded for that sort of thing.

DCA has wine and I'm often seeing people walking out of the Vineyard area with wine glasses. Unless they pay a CM to watch the exits.. just saying. Same deal at the Grand.. people walking through to DTD with a glass you just know they got served at one of the restaurants or the Hearthstone.. why do they do this?

There are 4 main eateries in the area that are near Fantasmic!

The River Belle Terrace is the furthest east, and has a large open table seating area.

Then the Blue Bayou, reserved seating.

And then Cafe Orleans, now will be reserved seating.

And finally the French Market, which will remain cafeteria style service with a large open table seating area.

Also, if you expand a bit, there is Rancho del Zocolo to the north-east, and the Hungry Bear on the west, plus the small Harbour Gallery area, that actually has some hidden tables north of the dry dock, all with open table seating.

As for alcohol and the Liquor license rules. DCA has a park wide license, and with a few weird exceptions, the drinks bought in the park can be taken anywhere inside the park, it is not supposed to leave the park at either entrance.

The hotels all have licenses that allow drinks to be carried anywhere on property (very common for hotels, as it allows guests to take drinks to their rooms). The rules state you are not supposed to take the drinks between hotels, or onto Downtown Disney property.

Actually there are small signs throught the Downtown Disney area requesting no Alcohol in the area unless consumed in one of the restaurants/bars.

I realize NOLA isn't the rest of the world but if you are at DLR I would be concerned about people walking around after having just drank with glass in their hand..

I was referring to the open seating area in NOS at French Market I guess.. I can't imagine Cafe O having enough outdoor seating. =)

The hotel bars ask you if you are going to the pool area, if you do, they place the drinks in plastic cups, if you are going to your room, they give you glass, and then housekeeping returns the glasses from the rooms and the common areas, such as the lobby.
