I called a vet's office and they said to feed it a mixture of 4 oz water, 4 oz evaporated milk, an egg yolk, and a tsp of honey. We mixed that up and put it in a little bottle. The kitten won't stop crying long enough to eat very much. I'm going to take it to the vet in the morning to get looked at. In the meantime, any suggestions??

If he won't drink from the bottle the best way is the eye dropper. Even if a lot of it spills out, keep trying. Do a search on the internet for home made kitten formula. He'll take to one of them. Good luck and let us know what happens.

The other advice is all very sound. Goat milk is another alternative. I have gotten very few kittens to suck on a bottle. Eye droppers do well. When it is old enough, I think about 4 weeks is when they start to eat, canned baby food meat on your finger works.

The dr squirted some yellow worm medicine into his mouth and gave me some to take home and give him again on Tuesday. They also sent me home with two cans of "prescription" kitten food. Dr. said the kitten is too young for shots but to bring him back in 3 weeks. The receptionist said the next time he comes back he has to have a name. My mother hasn't named him yet. Any suggestions for a name? He is black with white paws.
