I love having the shuttle so that's another reason I personally would choose CCI.

The breakfast is included and while not offering hot items such as waffles, srambled eggs it has a wide variety of breads and bagels for toasting(jams and cream cheese), muffins and rolls (shed a tear for the now gone forever yellow iced muffins), hot and cold cereal, yogart and fresh fruit and hot and cold beverages.

The pool at HoJos is larger but the setting is very pretty at CCI.

I'm with tapdancemom... Mr. Alice and I now consider ourselves Candy Cane Inn 'regulars.' We just love the place for all of the reasons mentioned above and because (though some will dispute me on this) the water pressure in the shower is much better at CCI than at Hojo's, in my experience. I've got really thick hair - it's not particularly long, but VERY thick... I was losing my patience with the shampoo process when I last stayed at Hojo's (a fun trip with friends, but I would vote 'no' for the hotel now. ;-)

I do think it would be extremely useful if LP had an area just for hotel comparison - not necessarily a discussion board, but an information section.

Yes I could go on Trip Advisor BUT I would love to see a section here by Lpers like you and I rather then the opnions of some strangers.

Any chance that LP could put up a area just for hotel comparison???

Especially if we have a trip planned Some of my friends think I am nuts! ha..ha.. They just don't get it! ºoº

Hopefully you'll get more info that wasn't mentioned in this post.

Personally, I chose CCI after all the good reviews. I liked it except the room was so darn small and cramped in comparison to hojos, even though we upgraded to the larger room. If it was just me and my hubby I wouldn't care but with young ones it makes it a bit tight. However, if you are only there to sleep it may not even be an issue.

Shuttle was convenient although we often arrived a few minutes too late (it already left) or we were there too early and had to wait - in both cases, we just walked instead of waiting.

The free breakfast is a plus if you will be there a number of days. When we stay at hojos we just bring our own fruit, muffins and single serve boxes of cereal & keep a container of milk/oj in the fridge.

Really, whichever you choose, I am sure your friends will be pleased since both have their high points!
