This quote disproves that statement. if they didn't care about money they would make the park more afforadable.

Originally Posted By Hista98 Monsters Inc. was there last good ride. that opened earlier this year though. plus its based on pixar as well. although i don't like it in TL but it doesn't fit elsewhere. why did Steve Kirk leave? btw thanks Will for correcting me, I didn't remeber it forbatem. I think TDL will always have better rides then the states because they have more moeny to blow on them, plus the rides are constnatley being refurbished, no mateer when you go to TDL there is always a few rides closed. Disney should pick up on this it's a good habbit.

They're not dealing with a "classic" or even a particularly beloved story and characters, yet they assume a lot of guest familiarity with the material. Just as well, because the dark ride itself only makes a half-hearted attempt at recreating the story - or at least some of the film's locales. The queue area is ho-hum at best, with a dingy fifties bus station feel to it. The opening scene presents us with characters that are uninteresting - the guys in the yellow hazmat suits. They are largely featureless and have extremely limited movement. Inexplicably, we then roll through a japanese restaurant and a locker room - two environments that have no relation to each other. The biggest opportunity that the original source material provides to wow a theme park audience - the door sequence - is lackluster. It's there, but it's not very ambitious or impressive. Even the exterior facade is garish and outsized. People - even those who have seen the movie - leave the ride scratching their heads and saying what the hell was THAT all about? I'm not trying to diss imagineers in general, but 'Monsters' is hardly their crowning achievement.

The Monsters Inc. ride in DCA is somewhat dissapointing. When you see a character with little to no movement in a Fantasyland dark ride, i'm okay with it because I know that technology wasn't at its greatest and they had no choice, but Monster's was built in 2006 and had no excuse (besides money, which it always comes down to) to not have characters with more movement. My favorite part of the ride is Raz, because she is an actual animatronic figure, not a piece of foam dressed like a figure that has a small motor that makes it rock back and forth. Sincerely, The Kid of Diz

More importantly, what is the justification for it being in Tomorrowland other than Disney trying to exploit another character franchise? "...like midway mania and turtle talk nothing grand." I agree with what you are saying, and I'm not a big fan of cartoon tie ins, but as they go Midway Mania is actually quite good and very entertaining. Same with Turtle Talk. By the way, where are these rides going at TDL?
