The single-disc release will present the film with an anamorphic transfer at its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio and include the brand new animated short "Mater and the Ghostlight" as well as the Academy Award nominated short "One Man Band". Other extras will include a behind-the-scenes featurette entitled 'Inspiration For Cars', four deleted scenes, and a preview for Disney & Pixar's upcoming feature, Ratatouille. If anything else gets added to the release we'll be sure to let you know. We've attached our first look at the artwork below.<< 29.99 for a one-disc, ouch!

I do hope they do the right thing and announce any deluxe edition before the standard one comes out, allowing people to make an informed choice. BTW, the suggested retail on Disney's DVDs is typically $29.95 for 1 disc and $39.95 for 2 disc sets. Hardly anyone actually charges that much, though. -Jeff

Cars deserves a high bitrate transfer, a Lasseter commentary, a 45 minute minumum making of, all the online featurettes, the music videos, a tribute to Joe Ranftt... it needs to be on 2 disks! I can wait until next spring if they announce a deluxe edition before the November 1-disk arrives in the shops.

I know as a fact that they have a montage of the stars going around North Carolina in the week before the premiere that could easily be put on the DVD as is. Also, they got a lot of footage of the red carpet that could go in with little editing. Add in a few crowd shots, so I can find myself, and we're good to go!
