In fact some of the major newspapers really didn't like Cars at all. Not that critical praise is needed but I wonder whether Cars just won't be the attraction that Pixar hoped. A weak story line and unappealing characters aren't what people expect from Pixar.

Both Da Vinci Code and X3 have had steep drops in their second week despite big numbers in their first week. Reviews were poor and I suspect word-of-mouth couldn't have been that great either. I don't want to sound negative as I'm sure Cars will do well but I don't think it will have the wide appeal of Pirates which should walk away with the top spot this year.
