Originally Posted By Dr Hans Reinhardt "What would you change at DHS? I really liked that park, especially the Hollywood and Sunset Blvd. areas." I would change everything except those two sections. Generally speaking the park is a thematic mess and is no longer (was it ever?) a real working studio. Like DSP the park feels fake and corporate. It's basically a dumping ground for anything that doesn't fit into the other three WDW theme parks. They did the right thing in Anaheim by injecting more Walt into DCA. Something along those same lines would be great at DHS and DSP.

Yes, Radiator Springs Racers is a great ride, but considering it will probably take them 2 to 3 years to build this at WDW, it won't exactly be state-of-the-art anymore. I think Disney needs something at that level to compete effectively with Universal, and prove they can really "WOW" the audience still at WDW. Plus, how exactly does a whole "Cars Land" fit into Hollywood Studios? The old MGM was laid out as Hollywood (including Sunset Blvd), the Backlot area - which included everything from Indy to the Backlot Tour, and the Animation Courtyard. Those areas still exist somewhat today, plus Pixar Place. I guess you could kind-of think of Cars Land as part of Pixar Place, but it's quite a stretch. In short, I'd rather see them bulldoze LMA and the rest of the Backlot, and design something new and unique for that area. Oh, and while they're at it, how about a new version of the Great Movie Ride and something to replace Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid shows. (Geez, that park really, really needs some updates - ASAP!)

The backlot tour has been gutted repeatedly over the years. It's not even viable anymore, there is nothing there to save besides CC and that is pretty much nothing compared to other things now. I could, however, with just a little imagination become a stand alone attraction.

And where will Universal be in terms of "wowing" people with state of the art attractions in 2 to 3 years? Not to mention that Cars Land wouldn't be the only new thing coming to WDW in the not so distant future. I get what you're saying, but I'm not I'm convinced that, if this rumor is true, it's a weak strategy.
