The cast member was firm but not nasty, and suggested several alternative places to sit. Unfortunately, all the places she suggested for the 9:00 show were taken by 5:00, but that's not her fault, and I still appreciated the suggestions. 2) Bob, the cast member at Indiana Jones - above and beyond when the ride broke down. We had been in line at Big Thunder Mountain and were waiting at the gate as the next riders when that ride broke down. So we went over to Indiana Jones. We waited in line 45 minutes when, you guessed it, the ride broke down. My 8 year old was stoic, a real trooper, but seriously disappointed. So I went up to the nearest cast member (Bob) and asked if there was anything to be done (one ride, no problem. Two in a row...?) He came back with a FastPass, to be used on any ride except Space Mountain. My son instantly forgot all the waiting - Bob, thank you so much. 3) The Cast Member making the announcements on the trams Friday a.m. and Saturday a.m. - the energy in his voice was on Level 10, and was a great way to start the day. You sounded excited about being at DLR, and you loved your job. Thank you for starting my day with a huge smile (you know: "Lower your head and watch your step, and if you can't, then please watch your language - this is a family park!" I love that!). 4) To the unknown cast members that clean out the ladies' bathroom stalls we all refuse to enter - THANK YOU SO MUCH! It has to be one of the worst jobs on the planet, but I swear to you one of the cast members in the Cal.Adven. park restrooms (the one near Midway Mania) was whistling while she worked. The weekend was crowded, the trip was special because of the people that work there. Cheers to all of you!

(Now, we will ignore the fact that I brought in wrapped presents the day before and nobody seemed to notice.) She was doing her job and did it well without making me feel stupid or like a criminal. I said I was sorry and she said it is better to use a gift bag with tissue so it can be inspected. No fuss, no muss. It can be done. Glad your trip was so positive ImTempest.

I worked Disneyland Day Custodial for fifteen years. I eventually asked to NOT be scheduled restrooms - not because of the difficulty, but be because I preferred working in an area, in the middle of the "magic", so to speak (I also asked not to be scheduled parking structure, or parade/show clean-up for the same reason). Of course, I worked the MALE restrooms when I did them. They are easier, because 1) the restrooms are smaller (though the male cast members have more restrooms to cover as a result), 2) women actually do things like wash their hands. It is much easier to take care of a facility when all that is happening is a guy is coming in, using the urinal, and leaving... he's not getting stuff on the mirror, he's not using any kind of paper, or any soap, or filling up the trash cans.

Probably has to do with people currently standing in line - what if everyone set up chairs? I can see the problem. On the other hand, I don't want to give up 4 or more hours of my time at Disneyland to sit on the concrete and for 3 hours cry in pain, either. I heard they have a new system to be set up for World of Color, where you use your park ticket and get an admission to the seating for the show - kind of like FastPass. If it works, it would certainly make my day.

Something so simple and so appreciated I also wish they had an online compliment form to fill out. So often we'll have a few names to compliment but when we see the line at City Hall we end up passing it up or if we do the "compliment" conversation we feel that it's kind of "whatever." Sorry for the gripe and now back to the awesome CM's

I hope that benefited the CMs that were so helpful to us. Go to the Disneyland website and look at the bottom of the page. There is a contact us option and you can send an email through there.
