Oh, boo, can it be? Our last day already? Sigh.

This day we got up and headed over to the park with the intention of hitting Fantasyland and getting in all the attractions before the lines became crazy. So, we did Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Casey, Jr., Pinocchio, and Snow White. Phew! We made it! Back down Main Street to have breakfast at Carnation Café, one of my fave’s in the park. Toby, the Chef, (gosh, I hope that is his name!) was out greeting and relaying his recipes. He is such a wonderful man and I just love seeing him. He impersonates the atmosphere of Disneyland with smiles and such friendliness.

After breakfast, we decided to all stay together this day and went over to Frontierland and rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and DH went, but Second Mom people watched. Then it was Pirates and Haunted Mansion, and Splash in which we got our family picture. We do this every other year at DL and have 3 so far. It is fun to see how the kids have grown through the years. We got a little grief from the Cast Member about how long the lines were and he had a single rider that he wanted to include in our log. Ummm, the line started at the air vent just before the last corner before the loading dock. Too bad, so sad, we got our way. This woman was kind of strange: She was cutting in front of my DH and I told her that all 7 of us were a group and she said, “OK†and just kept crowding in front of DH. I guess even in Disneyland there is no shortage of rude people. Fortunately, because the crowds were pretty light and manageable, we encountered very few.

After getting our picture from Splash, we went over to DCA and went on Grizzly River, Screamin’, and then the others went on Maliboomer, which is one I do not like. I am certain that MY harness is the ONLY one that will malfunction and I will be flying off to my certain demise. So, I have decided that after about 6 rides on it, I am finished. Been there, done that, and want to keep my adrenaline level at an even keel. So, I went back and rode Screamin’ as a single rider. Jiminy Crickets, but I love that roller coaster. I felt satisfied and did not need to get in one more ride before the day was over. We went over to Tower of Terror and Monsters Inc., and I still love that attraction.

We decided that we had enough time to eat at Taste Pilot’s Grill before heading over and catching the last Aladdin show. We had ribs, salad, and a couple of hamburgers. I think this is one of the best places in DCA. Best part, because the crowds were so light, there was NO LINE. Let me repeat that: There was NO LINE. Unbelievable. Okay, dinner was out of the way and we went over to Aladdin and waited to be let into the Theatre. I love live theatre and have performed in several local shows and I admire those who do it for real. Anyway, the show was great, if a little too loud. I had to cover my ears for some of it, but all was good. After the show, it was time to head back to Disneyland.

We walked down Main Street and I was beginning to have the melancholy feeling like I always do when I know our time is coming to an end. We did Haunted Mansion again and then headed over to Tomorrowland for a ride on Autopia. After an interminable wait, why is this line sooooo long? Never mind, I know all about the difficulties in keeping the line flowing with this type of ride, I just like to moan and groan about it. As we were leaving, and the exit line is weird, we saw some nuns in full habit heading toward Hologram Hell. I love seeing nuns out having fun. I hope they had a terrific ride.

Oh, darn. Time was running out. Time to pick one last attraction to end our trip. Sigh. The girls and I decided that Space Mountain would round out the last day. So, up we go for our last ride through space. Sigh.

Oh yeah, we still had to shop. Wooohooo! Back to Main Street we head and off to The Emporium to pick up a watch I had purchased after breakfast and had to have some links taken out. This is a stainless steel watch with Mickey Icons around the band and the face is light blue pearl with crystal Mickey Icons at 12:00. I love it. With the watch resting comfortably on my wrist, we did some shopping for some friends. I got my Mickey coffee mug fix and DD1 got a Tinkerbell mug. Our shopping done, DH and I sat on the curb and waited for the rest to finish. When everyone was done, we made one last exit from the park for this trip. Sigh.

The Plaza was fairly empty, so the girls wanted pictures taken in the California letters in front of DCA, so we got some snaps of them there and then walked back across the street to the Park Vue to get organized for an early departure in the morning.

Trip’s not over – It is on to San Diego for the Cast of 5 while Second Mom and Second DD1 headed back to AZ.

    To be continued……
