My youngest daughter got sick while we were at WDW so my Oldest and I toured the MK alone all the while gathering FPs for my youngest for if she felt like coming to the park. She ended up coming out with Mrs. CDD about 5pm in the afternoon and was able to ride 6 rides on FP before going back to the room. What a great little trooper. I will break up MK into bullet points as I think that is easier to read than a narrative.

Space Mountain- This was our first time seeing to new refurb. I thought the queue was better and the video games in line were fun although the line moved too rapidly in that section to be able to play much. And that ends the positives about space mountain. I rode both sides and still found that the track has at least 2 places on each side where the track bumps you up then jerks forward causing a whiplash to the neck. I can't believe they didn't smooth those out. Also the starfield is now a projection rather than being mounted on the tracks and is blocked by the cars and the tracks resulting in an inferior effect in my opinion. Also the stars are blue tinted rather than the white I remember and don't stand out as well. The actual ride is now much darker and makes it more difficult to anticipate the sudden jerks and drops. Maybe I'm just getting too old for this ride but it is no longer on my must ride list.

Also in the space mountain arcade games have been placed in front of the star ports so that when the train comes by outside all they can see are the black backs of video games. This may seem minor, but to me it showed a lack of consideration and caring for how it appeared to those riding the train.

Pirates of the Carribean- It looked great and never had a line. I have ridden it countless times and I still see things I haven't noticed before

Splash mountain- It must have been repainted since we were there. Everything worked and I looked hard trying to finda major flaw but this ride was beautiful. One question, The 2 white birds fishing, didn't the one with the hat on his line used to dangle that hat over the other birds head rather than down in the water?

Laugh floor- I know some on here say that it is a waste, but the show we saw was one of the funniest I have seen and had alot of improv and stuff off the cuff. It's a hidden gem. don't discount it too quickly

Peter pan- had a terrible line our whole stay. FP was continuous making the standby line a human parking lot. FP was the only way to get on this ride. PP is a good example that WDW needed to heed. Not all rides need to be thrill rides. This ride was filled with all ages and was one of the busiest at the parks while I was there

Haunted Mansion- as always classic although i was surprised that the FP machines had been removed and i never saw a wait time over 20 minutes

Jungle cruise- only rode once. This ride is all about the skipper and ours was hard to understand and rushed her delivery.

Piano man- he's back but tucked away behind refurb walls at Casey's bak door. We had a nice time listening to his Rag Time while munching on corndogs and fries from Casey's Corner.
MPearce, I got a picture of my oldest feeding the ducks from her hand here.

missed HOP- couldn't coax my kids in

Dole whip- Finally had one, then another and another. Are those things fattening?

Giant mickey rice crispies- watched them make them on main street then bought one--delicious

merchandise is blah-seen it- got it- need something new- Did find a t-shirt in a window but couldn't find it in the store. Although philharmagic does have a good range of Donald Duck merch that isn't anywhere else.

SMOKING AREA- It needs to be an enclosed structure isolated somehow. These areas are now on the 2 paths leading up to the castle and once you are approaching them there is no way around but to walk right through. Same on the one on the water front. Why not put the dang thing out past the judges tent and on the far side of thunder mountain? Who wants to stand in line beside the castle for a meet and greet with your kids and smell cigarette smoke the whole time. Besides my youngest has asthma and Cig smoke is one of her triggers.

That's what happens when FP isn't there to artificially create what you experienced at PP.

Are you talking about the steam train or TTA here CDD?

I can't answer your question CDD, but I'm happy everything was working for you, and your family.

Peter Pan always has a long line. The only good times to give it a go are really late at night or during parades, and fireworks. Did it look any nicer on the inside CDD or did it look like it was in desperate need of a refurb?

The refurb, and added attractions show the quality that Disney can still bring to the game when it wants to. Always a must do at the MK.

You should have requested Hokie Skipper! Why they put folks on the JC as Skippers when they are hard to understand is totally beyound my comprehension.

Still a ride on JC is always a delight, but getting a Great Skipper can be the highlight of the whole day.

He's great isn't he. It doesn't get any better than sitting outside at Casey's munching on a corndog, and fries. I just wish they had kept the beef dogs there though.

Shopping has been destroied at WDW. Especially at the MK, and really especially on MSUSA.

My wife can't handle cigarette smoke either. We have never had a problem with it at WDW. Is this a new smoking area or something?
