Lumiere just seemed like such a natural design, there was no other way a living candlstick could look. The genie too was mesmerizing; obviously at the time Robin Williams influence was a breakthrough and this was the first I had seen of Eric Goldbergs Animation too. I guess for both it was just the natural quality of the final product. I guess with most characters, you see the work that goes into it, either a scene or drawing that doesn't quite look right, or a pose that's been fudged to make a gag come off or something, but these 2 characters were so thoroughly convincing they simply "were".

Nathan Lane really blew this out of the park, and he was such a great design, too! John Silver from Treasure Planet. Perfect voice casting, Glen Keane, and CGI + hand-drawn perfection! Kronk from Emperor's New Groove. Just hilarious. And now Remy from Ratatouille. Patton's voice work is great, and the character is just so likable.
