Well,it's time to go to the Ruth Chris Steak House in Dr. Phillips.:)

Just another way that WDW dining is sinking to the bottom.

The free dining is in effect, so the two beef dishes at a supposedly high-end location are FLANK STEAK and a $23 cheeseburger!!!

    Blanking amazing.

For years, Chefs has had filets or other high end beef products on the menu.

Now for free dining ... well those dumb tourists think flank steak and burgers are what they serve in France ....

    Amazing. Just freaking amazing.

And while I agree it adds to the general sense of dumbing things down to thelowest common denominator -- if someone will pay $22 for a burger..take their money and then sell them that season's pass for the Pooh Playground for another $100 upgrade...

Its only there to placate a stupid redneck, xenophobe guests. At least the Lunch menu escaped unscathed. This si so irconic New Orleans Square just redid all of its menus and food items. Shows who REALLY cares about guests and thier intelligence.

It is kind of a trend at the moment to take "comfort foods" and make the upscale. When I was planning my wedding a couple of years ago, I read about multiple very expensive celebrity weddings serving "gourment" mini-cheeseburgers, french fries, and even hot dogs from upscale caterers.

I don't know that I like the dining plan overall, and I do dislike that it makes the restaurants so crowded with people trying to get as much for their money as humanly possible. However, I just am not seeing the big deal in this because I have seen it at several other upscale restaurants. Will I order the burger? Probably not, but it is likely a very good dish. Last time I went to Chefs I had the "high end" macaroni and cheese - is that any better? Because it was delicious.

I can't really disagree with you. But I don't see it as any kind of evil trend with the company. I see it as their reaction to the requirements of their customers. Do I wish Chefs de France would keep their menu pure and continue to cater to the type of people who coule appreciate that pure menu? Of course. But that's not the crowd that they have now, and they're making an adjustment to please that crowd.

So the question is - is Disney dumbing down and WalMart-ing, or is the WalMart crowd that is increasingly their customer base forcing them to lower their standards to please the crowd?

I hate to say it but it seems to be alot of both. Disney is "duming down" the experience with the lack of new quality attraction and other additions to the parks but the "Walmat crowd" is on the increase.

I'm beginning to think that the dining plan wasn't such idea after all with all the problems of availability, quality of food and service. Reservations are certainly much harder to get and it's rush, rush, rush to fit as many people through the doors as possible to acommodate everyone.
