I watched the first guy come out last night, and then had to go to bed, but it's amazing that they all survived and look relatively healthy.

This is one of the most significant stories in any of our lifetimes. 33 miners who were trapped for 17 days a half mile below the surface of the earth before anyone knew they were alive, before the trapped miners knew anyone was going after them. They're down there a total of 69-70 days, and through sheer human ingenuity and will, they're all out. What was stirring for me was the national pride shown by all the Chileans. This wasn't an attack on their country, but fellow citizens trapped in a mine. The singing, the president of Chile staying there until all 33 were out, then leading them all in song, was something to see. This is in the same category as the first moon landing, 9/11, JFK being shot, the Vietnam POWs coming home, etc., as far as landmark human events are concerned. Simply amazing what human beings can do if they set their minds to it.
