It was no doubt a ratings stunt timed to February sweeps. It's so sad that respected organizations like ABC News has to stoop to this for ratings. It's so sad that the network news divisions have to sell themselves for revenue in the same way that the entertainment divisions do. All that aside, absolutely nothing new regarding the subject matter came out of this show. Those that believe in UFOs will not be convinced otherwise, even presented with plausible explanations. The skeptics will still be skeptics no matter how many "first hand accounts" they hear from "abductees". It was fun to see Art Bell doing his show, and seeing glimpses of his famed desert compound. But they didn't have to trot out Peter Jennings to present the show like it's some sort of deep investigative journalistic report on some subject of great importance. It was not. It would have been better suited to Fox and hosted by Geraldo Rivera.
