How long of a trek is it? I don't think registration is open yet, but anyone who has done it would be a great help sharing what they know. Also, I think there is another, similar walk in the area. I'd be open to hear about that too (I just picked Choc because they saved my cousin's life awihle back). As ever, thanks for your help.

CHOC Walk is on Sunday October 18th this year. The walk starts and Main Street and takes you on a grand circle tour of DL, then across the esplanade into DCA for a grand circle tour of DCA, then out to the finishing line at Downtown Disney. I believe the walk is something like 2-4 miles but I have terrible memory when it comes to stuff like that. It is a walk-at-your-own-pace kind of event and there is PLENTY to see along the way. Characters are outside of rides and attraction sheering on the walkers, and many allow picture opportunities. Sometimes bands and entertainers are along the route doing the same. During your crossing to DCA volunteers hand out water bottles to keep you hydrated, and once you cross the finishing line there are booths with lots of food, freebies, fun stuff and special offers. It is a really gratifying experience when you see all the families that CHOC has helped, both those of surviving patients and those walking in memory of a loved one who has passed. I STRONGLY reccomend doing the CHOC Walk this year.

One of the fun things about it is that to make the circular paths work, they usually route the walkers "backstage" briefly. If you go here and search for "October 19", you can see some photos from last year: http://www.laughingplace.com/L...=D200810

The registration information should be up very soon on the CHOC Walk website. http://www.chocwalk.org/
