So here goes: Hey guys, I'm going down to WDW this weekend and I saw somewhere the ABC is going to be filming their Christmas Day parade on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Does anyone know how easy it is to take part in this event? What is it like? When should you show up? The website said that filming begins at 7:45 am on Saturday. Any information would be really helpful as I fully intend to get on TV this year ;-)
Originally Posted By kennect In addition to the parade you will find them taping other spots that will be used in the program...We did one at the AKL a couple of years ago and then ran into by chance a segment being taped at Epcot...After the AKL experience it wasn't even worth thinking about hanging around for the Epcot thing...It takes them forever to tape what will be about a two second clip in the final program that airs...Plus they do some really creepy things or at least I think they are creepy...Like passing out Holiday hats for everyone to wear and then they ask for them back at the end of the taping...But really the most fun in dealing with one of these things is the local crews they hire to help out with the tech end of the deal...Some of those tech people have some great stories to tell about different jobs they have worked there and dealing with different celebrities...Talk about being naughty and nice...We all thought that was for children only this time of the year...My experience though was entertaining and fun...But nothing to write home about...In fact one guy near us went to sleep while they were doing the bit we were involved in!!!!!
