My four year old grandaughter (of course) loved getting to have a meal in the Castle. After checking in at the podium just outside the door, you are ushered into a room and get into line to meet and greet Cinderella and have a photo taken ( photo is a package which will be brought to your table before you leave and is included in the cost of the meal) We had juice, fresh fruit, coffee & milk and then were brought a pre-plated meal of the usual breakfast items ( eggs, bacon, sausage, etc) Pretty much as soon as you are seated upstairs in the dining room, the other princessess will begin making their rounds. The day that we were there it was Belle, Jasmine & Sleeping Beauty. They (as with most character meals) move from table to table to meet and have photos taken. The little girls are given a plastic star wand and they have a little "wishing star" ceremony near the end of what is considered mealtime and ( at least for the smaller children) is kind of a cool thing. We enjoyed it and when we go back, my grandaughter has asked to do it again if we can get reservations. We were not seated right next to a window, but could look out and see into Fantasyland and that was a plus. Maybe if I was a more frequent visitor or someone who was there before some of the changes, I may not have enjoyed it so much. If you're going for the idea of actually being "up" in the castle ( 44 steps btw ), then you'll enjoy it-provided of course, your food is good and service is good on your visit. If you have someone in your party whose absolute favorite princess is Cinderella..then you might choose the dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian hotel. We had dinner there ( a buffet ) and the food was a little more upscale ( if that's to your liking ) than at some of the other character meals. I felt we weren't so rushed there ( went on a Saturday evening ) as at some of the other meals we attended, and it was a bit calmer. And,not only did you get to see and interact with Cinderella, but Prince Charming, the wicked step-mother ( although she told my dgd that she wasn't mean, she was just stern) and the two step-sisters. And,those two are pretty funny. They kept eveyone laughing the whole time we were there...even a grumpy ( no relation to the dwarf ) older man sitting at a table next to us who obviously didn't want to be there! The photo I have of my dgd "dancing" with Cinderella with her little blue dress and hair up in curls and princess tiara is priceless to me ( and yes, I realize that some here are now rolling their eyes..but oh, well)! We enjoyed them both, and I hope that whichever you decide on will be a positive experience for you as well.. Whichever you decide on..have fun!
