I say: hideous. Looks like it came right off a princess parade float. Certainly doesn't say "$10,000 / year membership level."

I realize it is just an update (compare: http://www.disneylandclub33.co...lack.gif ), but I don't think it is successful.

Any uber-wealthy folks out there care to comment?

I agree, and this is a good example of that. Not everything needs to be frilly and 'pretty' to be part of the Disneyland experience. Especially since so much of Club 33 is nostalgia and history, I can't imagine this will go over well with the members

I also think it's interesting that they waited to do the update until after the old logo was 'dated', right as it's turning the corner to being a 'classic' design. It seems that styles that throwback about 50 years are really trendy, so they're swapping it out right as that anniversary approaches

    *Exactly what I wanted.*

I always thought that the space above the French Market should be put to use, and when the Princess and the Frog came out (probably my favorite Disney animated movie, second only to Pixar's Ratatouille), there was a reference to Club 33, where Dr. Facilier ducks into a Court of Angel-ish courtyard and then enters his voodoo emporium via a secret door. Thought that Tiana's Jazz Club, and/or Facilier, would be a great inspiration.

I always thought that the Court of Angels would make a good entrance to an above the French Market restaurant, though obviously Club 33 had issues with the small cramped entry-way, and how they pack in a couple parties at a time.

They're doing exactly what I wanted architectural-wise, (which is kinda scary), but my thoughts were an outside stain-glass elevator in the CoA, and that the bathrooms could be put above the current restrooms in New Orleans Square next to the train station, to take advantage of the plumbing already in place there.

The new Club 33 style will be more relaxed, with wicker chairs, as opposed to the clunky old upholstered ones. Guests will still be able to go outside the balcony in the old part of Club 33, but not the new expansion, which I hope they'll be able to change in the future.

They're going to put in a skylight, and kinda base the new addition to 'Tiana's', the Jazz Club from the Princess and the Frog, when I saw the new logo I was very pleased as this is in reference to the style of the film.

In terms of theme, I was kinda on the fence regarding Princess and the Frog versus a special Haunted Mansion themed restaurant, w/NBC special events, but that idea may be recycled in the future.

They could use solar panels/electric AC for the show buildings, and move the boiler and chiller plant for an expansion of New Orleans Square, if so it would possible to build a HM themed eatery that is actually in closer proximity to the Haunted Mansion, though on the opposite side of the railroad tracks. I've got some ideas about that, regarding theming linking it to the HM.

Walt's in Paris Disneyland was going to be a Club 33, but they decided against it.

OK... that may explain why the logo looks a bit like it came from a modern animated film.

In any even, the new logo looks plastic, cheap and extremely tacky.

Some things should be left alone and not changed.

But it isn't. It's in DL's NOS. It should fit in with that, and to me this doesn't.

In the grand scheme of things this change isn't a big deal really.

They seem literally and figuratively above it all

I'm sure whatever ends up being there will be quite nice (it better be for the cost), but giving the club heavy theming for the animated film seems like it would be a big misstep

Whoever decided it should change, whoever designed it, and whoever approved it all need to lose their jobs. The further deterioration of all things Disney.

I don't think they're going to fire Kim Irvin anytime soon.

Tiana's Place is in the film, and inspired the new design, but you can't point at anything and say, "Oh, we're in the Princess and the Frog", there will probably be some concept art from Princess and the Frog.

Having been fortunate to have eaten many times at Club 33 over the years, after that first amazing time, you start to critique/notice stuff. The old chairs had vinyl on them and we're clunky to move, added a kinda darkness/overly stiff formality, IMHO, and the impression was that Club 33 was a kinda formal men's club/speakeasy. It would be great to have elegant wicker chairs.

This is why they're taking out the fireplace, to add more light, and the chairs will, presumably, be both more elegant, and easier to move, and not be so "clunky". Spot on, regarding this. There are more women members now, and no reason for lunch to be in such as drab setting, too, so I think this change is appreciated.

I guess a similar analogy would be if somebody went to Disneyland once every ten years and maybe didn't notice every little thing that needed fixing in the park, and thought that everything looked fantastic, I guess maybe in this analogy the clunky old chairs are the remains of the People Mover track.

Maybe it was different in person, but from the pictures it looked like it needed an update. The pictures from Club 33 at TDL are even worse:
