Computer failure leads to monorail stoppage

    That's a pretty unfortunate time to get stuck on the monorail. If it were me, I think I would try to take a nap, but I'd probably be too busy freaking out along with everybody else. I'm glad to hear that beside the delay, there weren't really any major issues and everybody was able to get off safely.

    I heard from my daughter, in WDW, yesterday and it was only in the 60's during the day so I doubt that "air conditioning" was an issue, heat wise. To bad, but how many people would be on the monorail at that time of night?

    ORWEN: There've been too many issues with the monorails this past year. I just don't ride them anymore--

    ORGOCH: --mostly 'cause yer too dang fat ta fit in one of 'em, but also 'cause ya fin'ly wised up an took a smarter witch's advice and found out just how dangerous all those monster rails really is!!!

    ORDDU: Oh, it's redundant enough. What's lacking is a proper back-up rescue plan. Having to get out cranes and cherry pickers to rescue guests is so...so....medieval!!!

Can you imagine what it would have been like for somebody who's claustrophobic or who has panic attacks or...dare I say...diarhea....

    If what I heard was right Red was between 2 other 'rails on the resort beam which made it pretty much stuck. They were able to tow 2-3 other 'rails to stations (and 2-3 others were empty or already in stations)

    So I'm now thinking that after oh 12:45 am- is not the safest time to ride the 'rails as all their big issues have come after then...

    I don't think it is that surprising at all. Especially since the crash. The safest thing to do when the trains can't connect and "talk" to each other would be to power them down.

    Yes, they do - kind of a small wind-wing type of window. But I'd guess that it wasn't enough to cool down a car full of tired park stormers. I'm really glad I didn't get caught in this, as my claustrophobia would have made things very unpleasant!
