The next time we went back we opted out of concierge and instead bought extra goodies from vacation planning including gift baskets, and cookies and milk via room service at night. This worked better for us because we made it work with our schedule and we saved a lot of $$$. It was great! So, I would say if you have the $$$ to burn do it. If your looking to save some $$$ but want lots of extras get the goodies like we did through vacation planning.

I think the Grand is the same. They open early enough to get a muffin or something before the park opens. They each have a refrig stocked with coke, sprite, diet coke, water, apple juice and maybe oj but I'm not 100% on the oj. It's suggested that you don't take more than 2 per person out of the lounge. I've never seen anyone say anything about it though. The water goes pretty fast in the summer. re post#1, the evening snack was pretty filling. Each night there is a cheese, cracker and bread tray, a veg and dip tray, chips and salsa and something hot. One night it was sliders, one night something similar to taquitos, really large chicken skewers, and such. There is also a dessert tray and wine or beer 2 nights we made it our meal and then had a dessert in the park. In Oct. we happened to be there when it was VERY uncrowded in the lounge and it was great.

Seems to me, you could (for the same price) hire a LIMOUSINE to drive you to the supermarket to pick up all the juice boxes and snacks you might desire (I'm sure the driver would go in for you, too), with change to spare. No? Or, for that matter, you could probably tip your bellboy ten bucks plus expenses to pick up that stuff for you, and still have cash left over for a lovely dinner at Napa Rose. What am I missing here?

Free booze and me work well together (I can screw up ANY sharp pencil guys on that count lol)...if it's really a meal then I can understand "concierge level" a bit better (even sans concierge), but still...$140? For that? (I suppose if you have a party of 4 or 5, it begins to make great sense money wise...plus the hype of getting "free stuff")

It was also a place to hang out for one of us if grandson was sleeping or a meet up place if someone was ready to go and others weren't. DD who is VERY frugal made darn sure they were there for the evening offerings and stocked up on cookies and fruit in the afternoon for the late evening. She'd even get an extra glass of wine for the room But seriously, you do need to make a point of actually being at the hotel at this time, for many people, they'd rather be in the parks When it's just DH and myself we are on NO schedule and the lounge hours don't seem to fit. I'd actually like it better if somehow it could be a per person charge instead of a per room charge.

GCH also has storeytime for the kids. We had a snow globe for one of our daughters get broken by accident and concierge had a new one brought up. It is a little expensive but if you have the extra money I would say go for it

I'll also be able to stay in the parks all day.

I'm not a big fan of concierge - as was said, if you have "money to burn," then you get a good feeling of pampering yourself. But the food isn't all that good (the cheese and desserts are good quality, but the rest is pretty poor - and the fruit was unripe and inedible). Yeah - Napa Rose is a much better deal!

I think this is definitely one of those "is it worth it to you personally on a splurge/luxury sort of level?" deals. Everyone's different in what indulgences are worth their money.
