Now that this one has died down, those who need to feel fear have apparently latched onto a new conspiracy. That Bush is responsible for 9/11. He blew up the world trace centers buildings, and that it was all done to precipitate a rise in oil prices and holy war against moslems. Last night I was watching the Bill Maher show, and people had smuggled into his audience some signs, and interrupted his show by shouting about this stuff. I don't feel anger, just depressed. These folks are so incredibly dumb. First, to think that a president would be that much of a traitor, and second, that Bush is smart enough to even pull this off in the first place. This is going to now last for the next few decades. Morons saying things like "fire does not melt steel" and that it's all our own doing. As much as I don't like George Bush, I can't imagine him doing such a thing, nor even being able to pull it off successfully if he tried. The people who engage in this nonsense are so far removed from any attachment to the reality it defies words, yet they are proliferating and people buy into their baloney, all fueled by a hatred of George Bush. Is there anyone in this country anymore who has any sense left? No one seems to be able to think anymore.

Just look at how many people know almost nothing about science but have no problem saying evolution is nonsense. The same is true with most conspiracy theories. I think if most people who believe JFK was killed as part of a conspiracy actually heard what conspiracy theorists say happened, they'd be embarrassed they ever believed in a conspiracy.
