I seem to remember parking in that lot in December 2000, and taking a tram across the street and around to the current drop off area for the Timon lot. I don't know what sort of clearance they had to get to do that, but I specifically remember waiting at the stoplight and crossing the street with normal cars waiting on both sides for us to pass.
