All the fish signage is up on the wall, the crashing waves are back in action, and the new seagulls are doing their "Mine!" thing.

All that remains now is the rope across the path that keeps people from entering as yet. CM previews are scheduled to start on Oct. 12.

    Cool.

The CM outside told me they opened briefly and some guests were able to ride. Whether that is true... I do not know. However, I caught a glimpse of the "clammobiles" inside the pavillion since you can see the boarding and de-boarding areas. For what I could see... the underwater theming in the boarding area looks very nice, with lighting effects to create that underwater motion of the sun filtering thru the waves... Very disappointing not to have been able ride since I had to leave for the airport as I am on my way to Tokyo and Hong Kong right now and won't be back after the weekend.

So to those of you attending the preview this weekend... HAVE a BLAST!!!

    A 55.7MB video file. Whoosh!

You might be waiting for a while if you're trying to pull it down on a dialup line...

I was able to get to go through the attraction on Tuesday, when after I had noticed that the construction walls were down, but the ribbon was still across the entrance, I went to take some pix. As I was taking pix, they removed the obstructing ribbon and invited everyone to ride.

The first part of the queue is as it was in its old incarnation, but redressed to resemble a beach setting. I found the lighting to be quite dark, coming from the bright sunlight.

In the next room(s) the queue appears as if you are underwater (a lot of room is provided as they are obviously expecting long lines). Even with the straight path it is a walk.

The seas cabs have been replaced by an omni-mover system with the cars being clamshells ... 2 to a clam.

The sets are quite detailed - and there are a few different areas that you go through.

The first bit is among the coral with Marlon once again looking for Nemo. You get to see all the characters that you would expect.

The next room is filled with giant Jellyfish - undulating and moving up and down.

You get to experience the EAC with Crush before you finally get to the tank area where by some means of projection, the characters appear to be in the tank with the real fish. (Listen to the complaints of the starfish ... I found that quite funny.)

The ride ends in the area that is now the queue for Turtle Talk.

It is cute and I can see that the kids will absolutely love it.

I got to ride it again twice during CM previews with my daughter. On Wednesday, they had potted plants covering the entranceway with CM ID's being checked to ride.

Unfortunately, from within the attraction, you can see the clamshells as they go by, and there were a number of youngsters who saw it and were crying that they wanted to ride - despite their parents explaining to them that it was not yet opened.

Just to clarify, that is from within the former Sea Base Alpha.

I do have a problem with them soft-opening this attraction for CMs, or other groups for that matter, while the rest of the pavilion is open to guests. Since unload is so exposed it just is really bad form to be doing this. At least for CM openings it should be done after-hours if WED needs to test & adjust. I'm sure there are multiple examples of what CMDad laid out of upset kids who want to find Nemo. Bad form.
