Good point about the overload of guests this would put on the existing monorail service. I don't know how they will resolve that.

It will throw the perspective out of whack, tax the hotel's existing facilities and is just bad, bad, bad ... so look for DVCs at the GF, Poly and DAK Lodge next! You know one day when Walt was sitting on a bench watching his daughters on a carousel, while munching peanuts he thought 'there should be some place built, under the guise of an entertainment venture, where you get people to fork out tens of thousands of dollars each in advance to pre-pay for points they can use for vacations.'

This would make a lot of sense. >> the stantions (sp?) look awful large for just a walkway << Not really. This would have to be quite a large/wide and high walkway. EVERYONE will be wanting to return to the new hotel from the MK via the monorail. They'll get off at the Contemporary station, and then walk the rest of the way back to their new hotel tower. In the mornings they might be inclined to just walk over to the MK by going out the front door and using the existing pedestrian walkway. >> Is there something in their render that is leaving out the garden wings of the main building? << It would look like this entire structure is placed on top of where the northern wings are now. So they must be going away. I'm thinking perhaps the tennis courts that are near there aas well. >> They'll be walking back into their new hotel after getting off at the Contemporary station. << This could mean that they'll be modifying the existing Contemporary monorail station platform? Naaah -- I'm betting it will stay as it is. As cumbersome as the existing single-lane escalator down is, it would have the traffic flow past the stores on their way back to their room. That's a tired, slow corner in the hotel 4th floor anyway now. ------------------ TWO ISSUES -- This will change the Disney skyline in a new and significant way. Not necessarily a bad thing. But I can hope the new tower and the Contemporary will look good together. More important, will the new tower have a new name? Or will it be the "Contemporary Northern Tower"? ------------------

I'm just comparing the height of the two buildings in the picture at the website. They are "about" the same height, except for the round tower thingy in the center, whatever that is.
