I was in the lobby of the Miracosta right around 10am when we had another earthquake, a 7.1 magnitude. It was freaky to see the lobby's chandelieres swayiing back and forth. Lucky for everyone.. it was a minor thing... and everything proceeded as normal... atractions did not close and the trains in the city kept running.

Quickly will say, the new Be Pirates version of TDL's Cool the Heat is lots of fun. The new music is great (CD on sale at the park already). There are 4 different versions of the show. They have added a few more fountains this year..the ones that are covered by the rocks on stage. Guest love it. The audience reaction and participation is priceless.

Over at TDS, they new Summer Oasis Splash is a newly reworked version of the former Chip and Dale's Cool Service. The Chipmunks are still there, but this time, they are joined by dancers on the shore, while on the water, Mickey and Donald, Aladdin, Abu and Genie, keep things lively and moving along at a brisk pace. The music here is very carnavalesque and its a pity the CD is not on sale for this show. There is water everywhere here.. no area around the mediterranean Harbor is spared. The water cannons blasted water as far away as the awnings on the Portofino Cafe! Again, the guests throw themselves with abandon and beg for more more more water to come their way. Inflatable props around the lagoon and on Aladdin's barge add even more festive and colorful atmospheres around the lagoon.

Snack for Summer at TDL: Stitch's Ice Pop. A mint blue frozen treat with soft strawberry filling, on a stick. Yum.

Merchandise for Cool the Heat and Summer Oasis is very cute, especially the plushes in the outfits the characters wear on the show. Get some of it while it lasts.

I have to say that while the efforts are revised versions of previous summer shows, the changes are good enough to merit a 2nd look. The budget on the Oasis show at TDS alone would make it prohibitive to stage it at WDW...and it is as simple a show gets at TDS..

All in all, great day, with lots of sunshine all day long... New Dreanlight floats and some nifty little surprises, TDR may very well be the plance to visit this summer season.

It will be interesting for me to observe my family: California/DL regulars at WDW....will they notice all the reductions and obviously be comparing it to DL/DCA fun and costs,etc...

Really glad to hear about Disney Fun wherever it may be ...thanks TDLFAN
