I really can't see the Florida Tom Sawyer Island getting the Pirate treatment, though I guess anything is possible. The Pirate takeover of Tom Sawyer makes more sense to me for Disneyland, since it faces the Pirates ride.

What's the link between pirates and a treehouse?

I would like to ask you , have you ever acctually ready Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn.

Tom Sawyer spends much of his time in both novels pretending to be a pirate. I suggest you go back and read the books.

Hello... they already have POTC? ..and a pirate gift shop to go with it... What else "pirate" theme do we need at the MK? Personally, I feel the pirate theme is way past it's prime and Disney should give it a rest.

Yes I have although it has been more than a few decades ago. Now I suggest you go back and reread my post, and please explain to me how a pirate themed island will fit in with a Mississippi or Missouri like Riverboat and a direct view of Frontierland. I am not discussing the merits of classical American literature, I am discussing the continuity of a classical American theme park. If the Pirates Lair was based on River Pirates I could see it fitting in. I do not see a Jonny Depp like pirate fitting in at all. That is just my humble opinion.

This is one time I am glad. I don't want our Tom Sawyer Island to be turned into Jack Sparrow Island. At least we still have a working fort!

No it really isn't. I just feel bad that Disney can not come up with something more original to do with their themed parks but to sell sell sell sell the same old tired themes they are showing in the cineplex down the street. Reason why I too am ticked off by TDL's POTC going Sparrow on us.
