That would theme well with the Victorian redress of Paradise Pier, I think. Does anybody have any idea of what the boats will be, or is it too early for that?

I read the story and was completely unimpressed. It might make sense if the boats operated as a transportation system from one side of the lagoon to the other. The way Al described it though, it sounds more like something that would travel in a circle around the lagoon from a dock near the Sunwheel. If so, it would be a pretty dull excursion given that you can see the all the surrounding scenery from virtually any point on shore.

But from what it sounds like, that's the type of thing that they should have had there to begin with, but really doesn't make much sense adding it now, especially since it will be closed for the show.

I still think the best type of vehicle that should be added to the southwest portion of DCA is a runaway, out-of-control bulldozer.

You can walk faster to get from A-B, you can see everything closer by foot, and you don't have to wait in line, but it adds kinetics and theme to the Victorian Pier. What a great idea. It would be cool If they built out the Monteray Canery area a bit and connected a water-passage canal for the old boats to travel through. That could be the a boarding area to then be dropped off at a particular location(AKA the Pier, San Francisco).

Also keep in mind that Disney changes its mind more often than you change your socks. What is correct at the moment will change in a few days. Also Disney is not beyond releasing information to see what the reaction is.

Those would look pretty silly in the middle of the giant lagoon. Also, the Aquatopia area is only a few inches deep, and would not be able to house any equipment for the show, and given that it would probably be in the center of the lagoon, it makes it not very likely. Also, as cool as Aquatopia is to watch, it really isn't a very fun ride. Sure, you are in a trackless vehicle, and there is some amazing technology, but I would probably rank it on about the same level as a Tilt-A-Whirl. Given that and the very high cost of construction and maintenence, I doubt it will happen.

The only type of off track bumper cars the park has are those rediculous things in BL which hardly move. It seems if it was done right - making it an E ticket attraction it could only help the area. At night they could still do some kind of water show, by having the boats end at dusk. Just a thought maybe bad, but maybe good who knows...

There would also have to be a fairly sturdy boundary, which would really mess with the views and scale of the lagoon. If they didn't want a boundary, then it would be a ride that lasts as long as you like it, or until you run out of gas. Most bumper boats I've ridden also bring the noise and smell with them, which isn't exactly what I want to have in DCA (although it may be similar to the old sub smell from the path). As for the wooden coaster, isn't that what Screamin is supposed to be? Sure, it's not really wooden, but a real wooden one would look pretty silly next to that, and it's a great coaster, so I really wouldn't want to get rid of it.

    THANK YOU!
How interesting can a boat ride be making a few circles in that lake???
Now ..... if Disney made some major infrastucture changes .. to connect the lake with canals to wrap around a couple other areas ... then it might be "remotely" interesting.

    >>What about the Magic Kingdom's Swan Boats<<
Ummmm ... are you thinking of El Bumpo?

As a 10 year old in 1974 .. I got some wonderful nostalgic pictures of myself in this ride ........ But lets take another look at a boat ride in one large body of water.

Anyone remember the big square "marina" the Disneyland Hotel grounds use to have? Remember also .. they had a boat ride too???? That, obviously, did last long now did it! ;)

In the name of "nostalgia" ... it's just not enough with Disney's absurd higher prices .. going up every year.

Wanna pay 64 dollars (2007 prices) for a "quaint" boat ride?????

Disney better UP the idea to the level of former "Disney" standards .. to be something so interesting (going through a show building) or something ... to make it worth it.
