    The notions that homosexuality is "disgusting", "unnatural", and "against God's ways" could pretty much be cut-and-pasted from the arguments made 50 years ago in Texas and other Southern states as to why white people shouldn't be allowed to marry non-whites. And, the most vocal opponents were the same then as they are now: hard-core religious groups that are so convinced that they know God's will that they self-appoint themselves to impose it on others.

    Right-wing thinking in a nutshell. "I can't imagine it." Anything they can't "imagine," understand, conceive of, or experience, is immoral, wrong, a waste of time.

    I've come to the realization that most politically conservative religious groups have a complete lack of sincerity when it comes to their religious beliefs. These people are bigots masquerading as benevolent Christians. Take away their churches and Bibles and they will be just as judgmental, hateful, and intolerant.

So people won't pay attention to the real things they are trying to sneak past the radar while everyone is so distracted by things like abortion and gay rights.

    I sure as heck am glad that my mom & brother aren't in her district!
