The Country Bears have reopened from their refurb, and as the rumors were true the show has been cut down by 4-5 minutes.

The songs "Devilish Mary" and "Fractured Folk Song" are gone, as well as repeated verses in "Bear Band Serenade" and "All The Guys That Turn Me On Turn Me Down". The show's intro has been shortened down (The piano solo is gone and after Henry gives his welcome it goes right to Bear Band Serenade). A lot of the dialogue is gone, such as after Trixie's number. Half of the finale is gone.

However, though the show is cut down the good thing is that the AAs were restored and the lighting seems to have been changed to. I'm not too pleased with the cuts (Especially losing half the finale) but at least the other songs not mentioned are still there.

I think the editing worked for the most part, but it makes me laugh to see what was kept. There's lots of Politically Incorrect material still in the show; physical violence against minors, gun violence and threats to kill others, female figures who exclaim they must find a man to find happiness or use sexual innuendo in their communication with dominant males. It's a Liberal's worst nightmare! PETA probably won't like it either.

But it is nice that the show survives into the 21st century, even in this edited format. A shame that WDW maintenance is so crummy that the animatronics will be noticeably less fluid within six months time, and a year from now will be back to a dusty, musty, jerky mess of a Chuck E Cheese performance.

Too bad Disneyland couldn't have kept theirs, or move it over to DCA in the Grizzly Mountain structure. They would at least maintain it much better in Anaheim.

People use to clap along at Disneyland, and at WDW you use to be able to count on a few Southerners to whoop and holler at their favorite songs. What happened? Are people just poking at their iPhones now in the audience, trying to figure out where their lunch reservation is and what the wait time is for Space Mountain?

Now, we have essentially 'Bears: Abridged' and unfortunately, their time has come. It just doesn't hold up anymore. They need to go bye-bye.

    Sorry Bear Fans.

My guess is that park managers felt audiences weren't sitting still for a 17-minute show and so cut it down to 10 minutes. Hoping it could entertain without boring people, or having people walk out.

Threadbare Jamboree. I think all good things must come to an end, and I don't think a Reader's Digest version of a 1972 show is going to pack 'em in. It's time for the next thing.

If you're predisposed to hate the show, you'll still hate it.

Only thing I can figure is this is related to the NexGen Fastpass stuff.
