Harrison Ford -- this is one of the best roles I've seen him in -- ever. Sam Rockwell, Paul Dano, Clancy Brown, Keith Carradine, Adam Beach, Noah Ringer -- all do a superb job in their supporting roles. Olivia Wilde is also carving out a niche as a terrific young actress. I didn't see too many trailers for this movie -- which I'm glad about -- and didn't read much about it either before seeing it. I recommend it.

We did like one or two things (like how he gets the bracelet), but after something particular happened, we were MST3king the rest of the movie. The thing is, I REALLY wanted to like it and had been looking forward to it for some time.

Yes, aliens in the wild west, but this part was just a bit too far-fetched. Sort of like the 'dogs that fly bi-planes' in 'UP' -- it was jarring. But overall, we really liked it. And the dialogue was one of the positive aspects for me. Some of the subtle exchanges between Sam Rockwell and the other posse -- very funny!

Guess that's why the critiques have been so varied.

One thing that did bug me a little about the movie was how serious they tried to play it. This was the perfect opportunity to have some crazy fun but I think they took themselves too seriously. This was not meant to be True Grit. This is Cowboys and freakin' Aliens.
