I'll keep my eye out and we'll sing "Almost Like Being in Love" to each other. :) And we'll ask Cyd to dance with Gene and it will be sensational...

Funny thing about Gene Kelly is the idea that very late in his life he apparently would do most anything to make a dime...When I was doing retail years ago he was hired as a celebrity to show up and help open a mall in this area...That I thought was so very sad...But then again in my retail career I got to meet Ginger Rogers when she supposedly was designing lingerie for JCPenney umpteen years ago...Go figure....

One of my most favorite Gene/Judy moments comes in a film that (by tradition) I grab my DD18 and MAKE HER WATCH: "Summer Stock". There's a nice romantic moment between them.

But, DD18 HAS to watch the number that Gene does with Phil Silvers. The one with allllll the dogs. It disgusts her and we just laugh and laugh. :)

Oh well, yeah, it's sad. We get old. Bummer.

If you're a reader, get "Can't Wait to Get to Heaven" by Fannie Flagg. Nice bits involving Ginger Rogers.

(LOVE her and Fred, by the way....)

The other thing...I would have never remembered the title of The Pirate without looking it up...It isn't my favorite film by any means but I always can picture those well defined legs that Gene had that never got shown off in other films that I can think of...Forget Gene Kelly, for me just throw me Ginger and Fred doing the Continental...That number will make me happy forever....
