There MUST be a way to improve the packaging on Dasani water. That wispy plastic cover on the mouth of the bottle has a way of ending up on the ground and then blowing from here to there.

As wispy as it is it's hard to pick up too.

Then there's the plastic thimble-like thing that goes over the end of the bottle. It too hits the ground, only to be kicked around by strolling guests. Or sometimes mashed flat.

I remember back when poptops on cans were made to come completely come free of the can when it was opened. These would then too frequently wind up on the ground. Now, the poptops are designed to stay attached to the can.

Can't the plastic on the Dasani bottle be designed to do something similar? Some way to impede the tossing aside of the plastic scat, so that it can be discarded or at least picked up more easily?

In that mode, wouldn't it be great if a packaging improvement like this would come out of Disney/Coke/WDW, and benefit the rest of the world in the process?

Maybe Dasani can do something along those lines. That little plastic wrap and thimble like things drive me nuts. They both go in the garbage as soon as I open my water.

I find most people do dispose of this clutter properly. Thank you!

But not everyone does. And enough don't that it really does accumulate each and every day in the parks.

And that light-weight wispy plastic cover sometimes accidentally still blows to the ground when right-meaning people try to put it in the trash. I've seen it.

I'll have to check out the Poland Spring caps. Haven't seen them.

This has happened to me as well but I was able to pick mine up. If it is windy out try to catch those little wispy plastic covers.

If you really want to take it off, you can, but there is no other way of keeping the water from spilling out, so most people would probably keep them on.

You have to wonder if they didn;t hire someone from the childproofing department at like Johnson & Johnson who came up with this. I am a Dasani person and drink a lot of water each day..yet those 'sport' bottles there drive me nuts too. I end up biting that plastic cap in middle with my teeth to get it open - and never put it back on after that again

Oh, and as for those little caps - I hate 'em! Actually had to chase one down on one of my trips last year and it took me a good 20 feet or so to catch up with the darn thing, but I was not ABOUT to leave litter on Disney property!

Hey ssWEDguy, I atleast know the mystery of HOW the labels get on the ground. I have learned that upon giving my kids the bottle to drink, I remove the label and stuff it somewhere or into the nearest can...this is because the label gets torn off by the kiddies if I don't do this. I think the attraction and reason the label is what it is, is because light can pass through it and through the water and it makes the water LOOK clearer, brighter, cleaner...whatever. I will admit, my reasons for tearing the label off before giving the bottle to my child is NOT to keep the park clean. My reason is simply to keep one of them from choking on said label. They always tear it off with their teeth! I'm thinking there isn't a good alternative to that label for the water people.

Cute -- I love cats. Had them for years and developed a severe allergy to them.
