You will be missed, Mr. Jones. You and your fellow Monkees were one of the best parts of my childhood. "Here we come... walkin' down the street. We get the funniest looks from everyone we meet..."

In syndication packages, TV stations aren't allowed to pick favorite episodes to run over and over. They go through the catalog in order by episode number (more or less). It might have slightly more airings due to favorite episode marathons, but it wouldn't be that much of a bump in the grand scheme of things. Certainly not enough to get it past your typical "I Love Lucy" episode. This is one more example of how the media pulls stuff out of their cabooses. And this is something they could have easily checked by going down the hall and chatting with someone in the programming department.
