After taking a wrong turn whilst listening to jane on sat nav we rolled up to US about 9.15 and were quit surprised that their car parking was $2 cheaper than the mouse,so in we go to find out most things where not opening for another hour some 90 mins but it was a nice hot sunny morning and the park was EMPTY so we just strolled around for a bit.
so first ride up was the simpsons ride which neither of us had ever rode and both thought it was great helps with a 5 min wait, then onto one of my favs men in black again a walk on which is good but sometimes you want the to be a wait so you can take in the queue area especially as it was kristines 1st visit my score was a personal best for me,then onto Jaws which was only just opening so another 5 min wait and we where on to me it looks old and tired and needs a makeover kristine thought it was average at best it didnt help we where sat in the middle of the boat :(
then onto disaster which has changed since i last went we both enjoyed this a lot, then onto Twister which apart from rip ride rocket had the longest queue for once we where stood at the back now i do prefare the front for a better view but you do feel more at the back but as always with this ride for me it's too short, then onto MUMMY kristine was never going to ride this in a million years especially when m y 2 nephews said how scary it was so on i go in the single riders queue and walk straight on thought it was brilliant and so came out and walked straight back on and rode again :)
numerous times throughout the day we went over to rip ride rocket only to find 90 mins + wait so give this a miss,we had our lunch and then headed for shrek always a blast and then around to terminator which is another fav of mine, then the horror make up show which kristine loved it was very good with a NEW monster at the end,we then had time to ride ET before going over to animal actors which unbelievably has been cut real short :(
we didnt see many characters around only scooby and shaggy, spongebob and penguins and alex the lion from madagascar, since 1pm numbers had picked up so simpsons and men in black which we wanted to ride again had risen to 60 min waits so we strolled around the park still bemused by the 100 min wait now for rip ride and it was only 3.30 pm and we had done everthing the last straw came when we where saton delancy st waiting for the last of the blues brothers shows when a CM come up and said it was cancelled as they where preparing for halloween horror night so i jumped aboard mummy again (5 min single rider)and that was our day at universal over kristine wasnt too impressed with the park and i have to admit it has lost some of it's charm on me.
so with it being only early we went for a disney fix at downtown disney can't recall where we ate that evening but it was home for our usual quick beer ,slice of key lime pie review of our pics and off to bed to dream of tomorrows adventures at EPCOT.
