We were letting our passes expire after 5 years. (Big sigh.) Then came the Club33 thread. Park Hopper AND exclusive breakfast. And DH’s pass was still good on the 17th. All we needed was a one day ticket for me and I had enough Rewards Points for that. A trip was in the making and I made hotel reservations while still in Arkansas. The plan was to leave after work on Wednesday the 16th. Well, Rod did not have to work so we got away much earlier than planned. Made the trip down at just the right time to miss LA traffic. Then what should greet us as we take the Ball Rd. exit?!? Fireworks. What a welcome! Just as we got to the DTD walkover the big Mickey Mouse went off. We were home. We got checked in and I made us a salad and we went right to bed to be sure we got all of the time we could in the Parks. We got up early and were in line by 7:15AM. Met up with a few Lpers in line. When they let us in we headed to get a locker and then to get FP’s for the Splash meet. Bummer that it was down but we ran into one-eye-pete and went on Mansion to kill time to see if Splash would be back on line. It wasn’t so we went on Pirates. Still down so we went on to the BSOW meet. Lots of fun there. Well, if I keep on in such detail this could be a book. Suffice it to say we all had fun and many of us took off for the expected impromptu meets that happen spontaneously. BTMR and Pinocchio and Casey Jr. By then we headed to the Big Meet which is covered in the meets section. Also the beloved Tiki Room meet. Now I will try to keep to highlights. My memory tends to fail these days so some things may be out of order. Some dear friends of ours had little interest in the rededication so we took the opportunity to get in some quality time together. We hung out until time for the Haunts/Brittany meets. We had not been able to get FP’s for Splash until quite late so we made our apologies to xPPx and went to dinner with agoofyguy and Jazzcat at the French Market. Met up with SeanYoda and Smeeeko. Also saw other Lpers and organized my small but annual impromptu Pooh meet. Then set off for the Fireworks which sadly were cancelled. But not to worry, industrious Lpers turned this glitch into a Buzz meet and many of us went on to the Nemo alternative experience. As we were leaving we noticed the Red Monorail running and took a chance and got to take a round trip excursion on that. What a day and we returned to our hotel exhausted but happy.
