Plan on going early, grabbing extra fast passes through the day. Take a mid afternoon break when the parks fill up & then come back in the evening to use your fast passes. They start filling up on 12/22; incidently that's the date when AAA Disney vacations peak season begins. Low season rates are in effect until 12/22. That's why I'm a bit confused.

Schools are out, yes, but many businesses have companies shut down from the 23rd or 24th on, so the number will go up (I think) after that. Note that blackout dates on the Deluxe AP do not begin until the 24th (although the SoCal begin on the 17th). So this week will be super busy (when we'll be there), and the following week will be insanely busy (we won't be there).
