We're staying at HoJo's for 3 nights and the walk in wet jeans just isn't fun - done it before.

Last night it poured but today the day was nice and sunny. :-D

    See you all there.

It's been that way for us a couple of times, mostly recently last March, when the 50th celebration was still going strong, and attendance was pretty high for mid-week.

Then came Friday, our last day, and I thought sure it would be packed. But it rained all morning, and that kept crowds to a minimum. Still, when it cleared up around noon and turned into a beautiful day, I thought sure the AP's would start turning up, certainly after work hours to see the fireworks, etc.

Yet they never showed up in big numbers. I can only assume that they saw the rainy morning, figured "we can go next Friday" and made other plans for their current Friday evening.

It was wonderfully crowd-light all day. The consensus on LP was that to get any sort of good viewing for the Remember fireworks, you needed to stake out a spot at least 2 hours before. So we went to the hub 2 hours before, and very few people were there. So we went on some rides, and came back less than an hour before. Still no crowds. So we went on the Matterhorn twice (this is how light crowds were), grabbed some turkey legs, and got back to the hub about 25 minutes before. It was starting to fill in - yet there were still bench seats (!), which we grabbed and waited the 25 minutes, eating our turkey legs. Then it started, we had primo spots, and of course it was wonderful.

I don't like it when it rains all day, but I'm telling you - if it rains in the morning and then clears up, it rocks!
