Covers why Disney seems to have cracked down on leaks about future developments. And Lutz has not had a terrible amount of content lately. Wonder if Lutz (seemingly) departure, and lack of info on future plans) are connected.

It could be a number of reasons but perhaps most likely to do with Al's declining health. I know he's had issues in the past and perhaps he feels he can no longer continue with the site. If Al was being pushed from the site he would just go else where and start again. People loyal to him like Kevin Yee would follow.

They seem pretty content at the moment to just rest on their laurels, so it wouldn't surprise me too much if they didn't have anything noteworthy in the pipeline. The major upcoming projects in the US are an alley behind Main Street at DL, finishing up Fantasyland in MK, Avatarland in DAK (if they ever actually build it), a possible expansion/makeover at the Studios, and a just-announced restaurant in Morocco in Epcot. Considering the timeline, that's not a lot of stuff going on, especially if you're cynical like me and don't think that Avatar or a Studios reboot will happen. I'm sure Disney wants to control the information better these days, with their own blog, but I think there may be more to the story than simply that alone.

Oh I'm sure there's lots of dirt going on in TDA or some roach infested cast member cafeteria to squabble about. Over the years Al never seemed to have plenty of gossip to spread, even when there was nothing interesting being devloped in the parks.

Likewise, when I click on "Contributors", MiceAge still comes up in the list of contributors to MiceChat. As I explained in an earlier post, "MiceChat" is owned and run by "Dustysage" and others. "MiceAge" is owned and run by Al Lutz. They work in partnership with the site. It is a bit confusing, and even though I know them personally, I didn't even understand that until just recently. >>I wonder if this has anything with to do with his possible internal "connections" have dried up.<< Even if internal sources did "dry up" at some point, I don't see Al just give up and not have anything to say about the parks. I think it would be more because he became uunable to do it healthwise. He has had some health challenges as others have mentioned. I haven't seen him or the MiceChat adminstrators, who are friends, in awhile, so I don't know what Al's current health statis is. But, anyway, I still don't see what people are talking about. I don't see where Al is "missing" from the site other than others possibly doing the "Editor's Note" at times.
