Also not bothered about the cost, although I'd perfer not to have to dress smart. I'm a T Shirt and shorts guy on holiday!

I was on the deluxe dining plan so I tried to pick things I couldn't/wouldn't get at home and spoke to the best reservations specialist who gave me great ideas, too! Here are my suggestions-- Coral Reef (EPCOT) Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge) The Brown Derby (Hollywood Studios-my absolute fave--for a California coastal girl picky about her seafood the mussels appetizer was incredible, especially the broth--the guy at the next table asked me what I was having; I recommended it; every, one at his table picked a different appetizer, but they kept trying to steal his mussels. California Grill (at the top of the Contemporary-I didn't go, but a honeymooning couple that I met on a backstage tour raved about it. (Try to go around 9ish to get a bonus of seeing the fireworks.) The Wave (Downstairs Contemporary--just opened June 7th) SciFi Drive In (HS)More entertaining that fine dining Raglan Road (Pleasure Island-Downtown Disney) True pub style fish n chips; can a girl ask for more? Oh one more place--our head custodian went twice this year and he raved about the Mexican place across from the pyramid. (I think it's counter service.) Since Mauro is from Mexico, I think that's a pretty good bet for a tasty meal. Skips- Marrakesh (World Showca/se)-adequate service and so-so food, live music and belly dancing was entertaining, however Spoodles (The Boardwalk)--food and service were good, but too noisy-great for families though Biergarten was panned by that honeymooning couple I mentioned earlier. I also did the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue and it was truly a hoot. The grub was basic, plentiful, and good, but the show was a knee-slapper. I'm glad I went in spite of the nightmare of transportation that evening. (One of two days out of eight that transportation in the resort was not so great.) Hope this helps.

My second fave in Le Cellier in Canada - great for cheese and steaks. For fun, only at WDW experiences, I recommend the Whispering Canyon (great fun BBQ meal at Wilderness Lodge - ask for a LARGE coke, and definately ask for ketchup), Sci Fi Dine Inn and 50's Prime Time Diner. Ohana is very unique and fun too. Boma and Jiko at AKL are very special too. All of the World Showcase Table service restaurants are great bets. Hope these help.

You're well within the 180 day rez window, and many places and times you might want are already gone! As to recommendations, the Ca. Grill is my favorite restaurant on the planet. Expensive, but oh so worth it! The Coral Reef in Epcot has an amazing glass wall looking into the big fish tank. Their menu has suffered somewhat lately, but it's still a pretty special meal. I also enjoy the Brown Derby in the Studios. And 'Ohana in the Poly has recently redone their menu and returned to their former greatness. All you can eat skewers of beef, turkey, shrimp and more, including enough side dishes to stuff you before your meats even arrive!

I wouldn't be concerned about the dresscode, unless you are wearing frayed cutoffs I think you will be fine at most of the restaurants on property.

The guy at the next table refussed to take off his hat,so another waitress was called in and she told him take off the hat or he was going to have to sing I'm a little teapot. The food was really good too. We also went to The Plaza in MK. So good! I had the strawberry and chicken salad. Kids liked it too. Coral Reef, Boma, Cinderella's Castle, Akershues and 1900 Park Fare are my favorites.

But Chefs gets all the action because that is what guests see; it is virtually the face of the France pavilion. Bistro on the other hand, is tucked away upstairs, with its simple entrance tucked away in a corner. Let me tell you though, the food is right up there in quality with the oft-mentioned favorites. So if you enjoy French food, give it a go; I'm certain you'd be delighted.

Originally Posted By danyoung >Let me put in a word for what I consider one of the hidden dining gems of WDW: Bistro de Paris.< I completely agree. I discovered this restaurant about 3 trips ago, and it's now right up there with the California Grill as a must do. And dave, just cuz you have French food easily available shouldn't take away the fact that the Bistro is an incredible experience, no matter what the food type. I know you're not visiting the World in the near future, but next time you come over you might want to try it - it really is spectacular!

Given so many things at WDW are not even available in the UK, or hard to come by, we tend to stick with those. I have eaten at Bistro, it's a good experience, one of the better ones. And for Americans/Canadians/Aussies - I will whole heartedly recomend it. By I cannot in good conscience recommend it to someone who lives 9 miles off the coast of France.
