The whole thing (Grand Canyon included) is all nicely done, but rather hokey. Not sure what would make sense there instead though, and I shudder to think of what kind of nonsensical movie/character tie-in Disney would probably replace it with.

No idea what exactly, but it's a pretty big showcase that could be used for something fresh (please not a movie tie in). Even if it was the same idea, just updated with more modern effects, that'd be cool. And if they do ever decide to change it entirely, I hope those creepy pterodactyls wind up on E-bay. How cool would it be to have one of those guys perched up on your roof?

It's interesting to me that you say this, because to me they seem to be doing everything possible to maintain it while carefully moving forward. I think I know what you mean, but restoring the Tiki show, bringing back Lincoln, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the Subs, etc., strike me as taking one step forward while keeping one foot in place. Look at all the retro park details being resurrected at the DLH.

The most recent AA was introduced in 2009. Small World has gone through several changes as well, with the addition of Disney characters and a new show scene a few years ago. The Dinosaurs, on the other hand, look and move exactly the same way they did when I first saw them as a kid in 1971.

The first of Primeval World's final scene, and a still from Jurassic Park: http://davelandweb.com/dlrr/im...7_66.jpg http://unrealitymag.com/wp-con...park.jpg Big difference between these two versions! DL's version of T. Rex reflects the belief at that time that T. Rex had a small head and large tail, and dragged its tail along the ground when walking. (You can see this demonstrated in the old Harryhausen claymation films like Valley of Gwangi.) But thanks to modern scientists like John Horner, we now know that T. Rex had a more massive head size, and used its tail for balance while walking and running, with a more bird-like posture. I also find the Primeval World dinos hilarious. Nothing terrifying about DL's T. Rex after encountering those T. Rex heads above you on the Jurassic Park ride at Uni. =8^0
