You don't need to have an AP when you book your room, but you do need to show it when you check in. If no one in your group will be getting an AP, then sometimes some of the travel sites offer discounts such as "buy 3 nights, get one free" at the 3 resort hotels. Also, it has been a while, but there are sometimes advertised specials in the L.A. area newpapers. When are your dates?

Another thing I have discovered...I am over 60 (63 to be exact) and when I call the hotel direct, the senior rate for resort hotels is a GOOD discount too. A very nice CM tipped me off to this when I called June of 2005 to book rooms at the DL hotel...and, if I had not mentioned bringing my granddaughter, not sure the senior rate would have even been mentioned.
