    >>Disneyland officials confirmed that Splash Mountain photo screeners would be redeployed to other positions as of May 3.

“In evaluating the ride photo moderation role and process, we have determined that actual inappropriate behaviors by guests are rare,” Disneyland spokesperson Betsy Sanchez said in a written statement. “Ride photos will continue to be monitored by cast members at the point of sale. In addition, the current screening system will remain intact to provide the option for management to initiate image monitoring if necessary.”

As always, Disneyland reserves the right to remove any visitor from the park who exhibits offensive or inappropriate behavior, Sanchez said.<<

By the way, this also applies to ToT, Screamin' and Space Mountain.

So I wonder who will get the first "new" offensive photos placed on the Internet?

And will it be "staged" (aka someone doing it on purpose just to get the photo to show to others.)???

Maybe I'm not understanding this snipet of the article, but it sounds like they are moving them to other places because of inappropriate behavior, or in spite of.

ToT has potential for a huge group effort, like a sorority or something. Remember, DCA serves alcohol. Please let it happen!

My personal opinion, you are looking at a job that cost the company between $10 to $15 per hour to staff at each of the four locations, about the price of one photo sold, to "keep" the Disney Image. And I think that is just SHORT Term "dumb" thinking. Somebody will get "the shot" sometime in the near future, and then the Media will pick up on the story, which will put Disney in a bad light, and force them to bring back the position.

Just stupid. They can spend millions on marketing, and give away free admission on your BD, but they can't pay for a few store CM's to try and protect their image...

And that is the REAL story!

And while if I am in the area, I will glance at the displayed photos for a few minutes, I am not going out of my way to get "The Shot", nor do I plan to get someone to "pose" while on the ride. If I get one, it will be a "real" guest doing something stupid.

I hereby volunteer. How long will it take a hairy, 32 year-old overweight male's flashing pic to go viral? Susan Boyle, watch out!

But this is the way corporations think. At my job they shut down the air conditioning in the summer in half the building and made everybody move their desks to the other half on the weekends. Everyone hated it. Despised it. But then on Monday they'd show up and there'd be a new calendar on their desk. When we asked why we couldn't just forgo the calendar and get the air conditioning back, we were told that the calendar comes out of marketing's budget but that air conditioning came out of our budget. It's actually a great company to work for, but you can't avoid that kind of mindlessness in a corporation.

Just when I think I'm too much of a Disney park nerd something like this comes along and proves that there's a limit to how much Disneyland information even I can stand.

This is not news, nor is it important.

"Oh Myrtle you won't believe what I saw at Disneyland the other day!"

    "The hell you say!"

I imagine the photos were originally screened so that Disney could protect itself against the .05 percent of the population that would actually raise a stink over seeing something offensive on those screens.

When the original Flash Mountain thing started I think Disney should have just ignored it. The vast majority of the population does not want to flash a camera or flip it the bird.

I think it's just sort of loutish. But that's just me and my opinion...
