We took Ann's adult (single) son with us on a Disney Cruise last year, and although he enjoyed some aspects of it, he was VERY disappointed that there was virtually zero chance of meeting a young woman to hang out with.

There are many "Adults Only" activities both on the ship and at Castaway Cay that you will greatly enjoy. On-board there are adults only pools, clubs and other activities. They really seem to take "demographics" into account when making seating assignments in the main dining rooms. You WON'T end up eating with a family with young children or a bunch of old farts like us. ;-) Our seating assignments were always with people close to our own age and without young kids. You will have a GREAT time!
Originally Posted By schnebs Disneyffwb, I can sum up my answer to you in one word: GO!!! I've done four cruises with DCL so far, all kidless, and I've had a great time. Kids won't be underfoot anywhere near as much as your brother may think - for the most part, the young'uns are in the kids' clubs or in certain "all ages" areas like the Mickey and Goofy pools. There'll be places onboard where you can get away from them if you need a break. There will be lots of activities for adults, especially on the longer cruises, like cooking classes, alcoholic drink tastings, and adult-oriented trivia (like sports trivia or 70s music trivia). The adults-only areas are great to hang out in at night (or in the case of the "sports bars" like Diversions or 687, during the day), and the performers onboard usually have adults-only shows that are a little more risque than their family performances, but not bawdy or raunchy. Last but not least, if you're a Disney geek (and you must be if you're on this board), there will be lots of little Disney details for you to find and enjoy - on your own and on tours like the "Art of the Theme" ship tour. You'll be able to catch first-run Disney movies in the theatre - not just the 'toons, but also adult-oriented movies like "The Help". If you like to show off, watch the Personal Navigator for Disney trivia contests (although some of those kids can kick butt on Disney trivia). About the only thing your brother may be disappointed in on DCL is that there's no casino, but there's BINGO if he gets desperate to gamble. You guys'll have a great time, and I'd be more than willing to bet you won't be the only childless adults onboard.

I'm not good at picking up on hints like that...If you want me to know something, be direct. Our family financial adviser calmed him down, though, and he said that he'll help me plan.
