There are plenty of people who want a $1,500 chair, and plenty of people who want furniture covered in Mickey prints; I'm just not sure how much those two groups overlap. This strikes me as a strange line from a business perspective. Who is their target audience, exactly? About 15 years ago, Disney did a really nice looking line of high-end Art Deco-inspired furniture that was oh-so-loosely inspired by Walt's office. It was a lot of dark wood with chrome accents and curved corners. Similar to this line it was also a pretty high price point, but at least something that would be appropriate in a room for adults. I actually think that part of the problem with it was that the Disney connection was so loose that it just looked like any other line of furniture, so I don't think it sold terribly well, but at least the designs were appropriate for the audience who would theoretically be buying it
I think the market for stuff like this is the rooms of the Kardashian little kids like North West, and Penelope Disick. And now I have to go flog myself for knowing their names. Despite the price, this is children's furniture.
I agree that most of the stuff is designed for kids (though the bed can be ordered as twin, full, or queen, which suggests some anticipated interest from adults), but how many families really want to spend that kind of money on kids furniture? Yes, there are some notable examples of people with more money than brains (like the aforementioned Kardashians), but how many of those people are Disney fans? This just seems like it was created for a very narrow slice of the market, considering how widely it's been publicized
